Dolly Parton, the renowned country music superstar, has recently added three new Guinness World Records to her impressive collection. The Guinness World Records presented her with certificates in Nashville, Tennessee, recognizing her outstanding musical achievements.
One of the records she achieved is for the longest span of No. 1 hits on the US Top Country Albums chart by a female artist. According to Guinness, there was a remarkable 43-year and 156-day gap between her number one records, placing her third overall. The only artists ahead of her in this category are Johnny Cash, with a span of 50 years and 91 days, and Merle Haggard, with 48 years and 192 days between their number one records.
In addition, Parton received recognition for having the most studio albums released by a female country singer. Since her debut in 1967 with “Hello, I’m Dolly” up until her 2022 album “Run, Rose, Run,” she has released an astonishing 65 studio albums. All of her albums reached the Top 20 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, with eight of them reaching number one.
Furthermore, Parton was honored with the title for the most top 10 entries on the US Top Country Albums chart by a female artist. Her compilation album “Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection,” released in 2022, marked her 48th top 10 entry on the Billboard chart.
Expressing her gratitude, Parton humbly acknowledged her fans for their support throughout her long-lasting career in the music industry. She attributed these world records to her devoted fan base and shared the honors with them.
Apart from these recent records, Dolly Parton already holds seven other Guinness World Records titles. These include achievements such as most decades with a Top 20 hit on the US Hot Country Songs chart, most No. 1 hits on the US Hot Country Songs chart by a female artist, and most Grammy nominations for a female country artist, among others.
